The classic Icône solitaire.
Known as one of the most iconic jewelry companies in the world, Van Cleef and Arpels has been commissioned to create some of the most iconic jewels in history. From the sapphire and diamond bracelet given to Wallis Simpson by The Duke of Windsor to the pearls given to Grace Kelly by H.S.H. Prince Rainier of Monaco, the jeweler was the go-to for royalty of both the regal and Hollywood variety (Van Cleef was the company Richard Burton bought most of the jewelry he gave Elizabeth Taylor before, during and after their two marriages and divorces). Here we showcase a few engagement rings put out by the design house to delight and inspire.
This ring, weighing in at over 12 carats in total, belonged to socialite and philanthropist, Brook Astor.
This limited time “Marguerite” featured a 12mm cultured pearl cradled in pavé diamond petals and was a collaboration between the jeweler and Lanvin.
