Three Steps Closer To: Less Pressure

SHARE

We all think about living a happier, healthier and more inspired life, but let’s face it; daily obligations and task can get in the way, making statements like “I want to be happy” seem overwhelming and somewhat grand. Since we all know that breaking goals down and taking daily steps is the best way to achieve them, we’re offering up weekly motivations to support your goals in all areas of your life. This week, we are encouraging you to pay attention to the unnecessary mental and emotional demands you place on yourself. Here are three ways to ease up and just be (with no judgements).

1 | Know what you want and what you really need.

Placing our happiness on hold “until” we (insert demand here) is a favorite pastime of humans throughout history. Unfortunately, it’s the donkey/carrot mentality that often keeps us trapped in misery. This week, try and pay close attention to the difference between what you need in order to survive and what you’re waiting to achieve in order to enhance it allows you the freedom to be happy in the here and now.

2 | Allow room for expression without expectation.

It’s great to feel the thrill of accomplishing a goal, but learning to do things for the sheer joy of doing them is one of the best gifts you can offer yourself. Whether it’s singing at the top of your lungs in the shower, cooking a meal when you have no idea what half of the ingredients are or writing a blog just to share your thoughts and idea, allow yourself to be motivated by nothing more than inspiration once in awhile.

3 | Stop judging your feelings.

Is there anything worse than feeling “awful” for feeling things? Instead of attacking yourself for thinking and feeling things you “shouldn’t” try to take in the information being offered and look for the lessons and opportunities that are being offered.
